The ITV IQ 2700 R is the largest split-system head in ITV's modular granular ice lineup, producing up to 2,860 lb (1,297 kg) of wet granular "chip" ice per day. It pairs with a separate remote condensing unit — the compressor and condenser sit elsewhere (typically outdoors or in a mechanical room), so the ice head runs quiet, cool, and draws very little power on-site. It produces a drier 25% residual-water chip ice and is a head-only unit: it requires a remote condensing unit, a line set, and a separate storage bin.

ITV IQ 2700 R Commercial Chip Ice Machine Head - 2,860 lb/Day, 31 inches Remote-Condenser Modular Description

Wet granular ice — often called chip ice — is soft, moldable, and easy to chew. The split ("R", for remote) version of the IQ 2700 produces drier chip ice with 25% residual water content — firmer and less wet than the 40–50% ice from the self-contained IQ 2700 — which travels and stores well and is excellent for bagging, beverages, and food display. The head produces ice continuously through a stainless steel auger system and drops it out of an opening in the bottom of the unit into the bin below.

In a split system, the noisy, heat-generating components — the compressor and condenser — are moved into a separate remote condensing unit connected to the head by refrigerant lines (3/8" liquid and 1/2" suction). This keeps the ice head lighter and quieter, and moves rejected heat out of the conditioned space entirely. Because the compressor is remote, the head itself draws only about 1,200 W on site; the remote condensing unit must be sized to handle a cooling load of 20,207 BTU/h (5,922 W). Together with its very high output, this makes the IQ 2700 R ideal for high-volume operations in hot kitchens, noise-sensitive spaces, and sites where venting condenser heat indoors isn't practical.

Notably, the split head is far more compact than the self-contained IQ 2700: because the dual condensers are moved remotely, the IQ 2700 R fits in a single ~31" wide cabinet (vs. ~53" for the self-contained model). Built with an AISI 304 stainless steel body and a high-efficiency evaporator with no gaskets or seals, it is designed for long service life and simple maintenance, with a powerful speed reducer on top and an electromechanical control system.

Key Features

  • Split / remote-condenser system — compressor and condenser are housed in a separate remote unit, keeping the head quiet and cool on site
  • Highest output in the split line: up to 2,860 lb (1,297 kg) of ice per day
  • Drier chip ice: wet granular ice with 25% residual water content — firmer than the self-contained model's 40–50% ice
  • Compact footprint: ~31" wide cabinet (vs. ~53" for the self-contained IQ 2700)
  • Low on-site power draw: about 1,200 W at the head (compressor is remote)
  • Three-phase power: 208–230V / 60Hz / 3-phase
  • The most efficient evaporator on the market — lower energy consumption and higher ice production
  • Evaporator without gaskets or seals for reliability and easy cleaning
  • Stainless steel auger with resilient coating to maximise lifespan
  • Powerful speed reducer mounted on top
  • AISI 304 stainless steel body
  • Electromechanical control system
  • EASI (Easy Access for Service & Installation) and STIF (Strong Inox Frame)
  • NSF and ETL (Intertek) certified

Best For

  • The highest-volume operations needing a remote condenser: large food production, healthcare campuses, supermarkets
  • Hot kitchens and enclosed spaces where rejecting condenser heat indoors isn't practical
  • Noise-sensitive environments (the loud components are moved remote)
  • Sites with 208–230V three-phase power and room for a remote condensing unit

💡The IQ 2700 R is a split system: to operate it, you'll need a matching remote condensing unit and line set plus a separate storage bin — none are included. If you'd prefer an all-in-one unit without a remote condenser, choose the self-contained IQ 2700 A (air-cooled) or IQ 2700 W (water-cooled); for a smaller remote system, step down to the IQ 1300 R.

Shipping Policy

At Ice Maker Supply, we work to make shipping clear, reliable, and easy to track. Most orders are shipped through trusted warehouse, supplier, or carrier partners. Shipping times may vary based on product availability, warehouse location, delivery address, carrier schedule, freight requirements, and order volume.

Standard Delivery

Our estimated delivery time is 4-6 business days for most eligible areas after the order has been processed and shipped.

Some larger ice machines may require freight delivery. Freight shipments may take longer depending on location, carrier availability, and delivery appointment scheduling.

Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed.

Order Processing

Orders are usually processed during regular business days, Monday through Friday.

Processing may take longer during:

  • Holidays
  • High order volume

Freight delivery may require:

  • A delivery appointment
  • A valid phone number
  • Someone available to receive the shipment

Do not install or use a damaged product before contacting us.

Incorrect or Incomplete Address

Please make sure your shipping address is complete and accurate before placing your order.

Ice Maker Supply is not responsible for delays, failed deliveries, or extra charges caused by:

A package may be returned to the sender due to:

  • Incorrect address
  • Incomplete address
  • Failed delivery attempts
  • Refused delivery
  • Carrier access issues
  • Unclaimed shipment

If your package is returned to the sender, contact us with your order number and correct shipping address.

Pre-Order or Backordered Items

If a product is listed as pre-ordered or backordered, the product page may show the estimated shipping date.

Pre-order and backorder shipping dates are estimates and may change due to supplier production, warehouse availability, or carrier delays.

If the estimated shipping date changes, we will do our best to keep you informed.

Warranty Replacement Shipping

If a warranty replacement is approved, shipping may depend on the manufacturer, supplier, or warranty provider.

Replacement orders may require:

  • Proof of purchase
  • Photos or videos of the issue
  • Troubleshooting steps
  • Return of the original item
  • Supplier or manufacturer approval

A replacement will be shipped only after the required review process is complete.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "head only" mean for the ITV Ice Makers IQ 2700 R 31" split-system chip ice machine?

It means you receive only the ice-making head; you must also purchase a matching remote air-cooled condensing unit, refrigerant line set, and a compatible storage bin for complete operation.

How much ice per day does the ITV Ice Makers IQ 2700 R produce?

Nominal production is up to 2,860 lb/day (1,297 kg/day) of wet granular chip ice under 50°F air and 70°F water conditions; ASHRAE rating is up to 2,060 lb/day (934 kg/day) under 90°F air and 70°F water.

What kind of ice does the ITV Ice Makers IQ 2700 R make, and how "wet" is it?

It produces wet granular (chip) ice with about 25% residual water content—firmer and less wet than the self-contained model, which typically has 40–50% residual water.

Why is the ITV Ice Makers IQ 2700 R considered quieter and better for enclosed spaces?

Because it’s a split/remote-condenser design—compressor and condenser heat-generating components are located in a separate remote unit—so the head itself draws about 1,200 W and stays lighter and quieter at the install location.

What are the electrical and key connection requirements for the ITV Ice Makers IQ 2700 R?
