Wet granular ice — often called chip ice — is soft, moldable, and easy to chew, with a 40–50% residual water content that makes it ideal for chilling drinks, displaying fresh food, and patient care. The IQ 2700 A produces this ice continuously through a stainless steel auger system and drops it out of an opening in the bottom of the unit into the bin below.
With roughly double the output of the IQ 1300, the IQ 2700 A is designed for operations that need very large volumes of ice from a single head — high-volume food production, large healthcare campuses, supermarkets, and industrial sites. Because of that capacity, the unit ships only in a three-phase configuration (208–230V), which spreads the electrical load evenly and suits the larger facilities where it is typically installed. As an air-cooled machine, it rejects heat into the surrounding air and keeps installation straightforward wherever there is adequate ventilation.
