Wet granular ice — often called chip ice — is soft, moldable, and easy to chew, with a 40–50% residual water content that makes it ideal for chilling drinks, displaying fresh food, and patient care. The IQ 2700 W produces this ice continuously through a stainless steel auger system and drops it out of an opening in the bottom of the unit into the bin below.
With the highest output in the IQ family, the IQ 2700 W is built for operations that need very large volumes of ice from a single head — high-volume food production, large healthcare campuses, supermarkets, and industrial sites. As a water-cooled machine, it rejects heat into a water supply rather than into the air, which keeps output steady even in hot or poorly ventilated equipment rooms — at the cost of much higher water consumption, so it needs a reliable water supply and proper drainage. Because of its capacity, the unit ships only in a three-phase configuration (208–230V), which spreads the electrical load evenly and suits the larger facilities where it is typically installed.
