Water cooling is the key difference in this model. Instead of rejecting heat into the surrounding air, the MS500W1H uses a water-cooled condenser, so it keeps producing at a consistent rate even in tight, warm, or enclosed locations where an air-cooled machine would lose output — and it runs a little more efficiently on electricity (4.3 vs. 5.3 kWh per 100 lb). The trade-off is condenser water: a water-cooled unit uses substantially more water and needs a proper supply and drain, so it's best where ambient heat or ventilation rules out air cooling.

The ice itself is half dice — about 0.9" × 0.4" × 1" (23 × 11 × 26 mm). These smaller, flatter cubes pack tightly into a cup, expose more surface area to cool drinks quickly, and stretch further per pound, which makes them ideal for soft-drink fountains, self-serve dispensing, and high-volume food service. The machine forms about 400 cubes per cycle on a high-efficiency vertical plate evaporator, using ITV's patented smart water distributor that cascades water across the entire evaporator for clean, consistent cubes.
