ITV SPIKA MS1000W2H Commercial Ice Machine Head - 974 lb/Day Half Dice Cube, 30 inches Water-Cooled Modular 208-230V Description

The SPIKA MS1000 is one of ITV's large-format modular cube machines, built to feed high-demand beverage and food-service operations from a single 30"-wide head. This W2H version runs on 208–230V / 60 Hz single-phase power and uses water cooling, which makes it especially well suited to hot or poorly ventilated rooms.

Water cooling transfers condenser heat to a water loop rather than blowing it into the room, so the machine runs cooler and quieter and — importantly at this capacity — maintains its output far better when ambient temperatures climb. At ASHRAE conditions, this water-cooled head is rated at about 915 lb/day, compared with roughly 730 lb/day for the equivalent air-cooled model, a meaningful advantage in hot kitchens. The trade-off is water use: beyond the water consumed to make ice, a water-cooled condenser consumes a substantial amount of additional water, so it's best where ambient heat or ventilation is the limiting factor and that water cost is acceptable. Water-cooled SPIKA units are typically supplied as a special order.

The ice is half dice — about 0.9" × 0.4" × 1" (23 × 11 × 26 mm). These smaller, flatter cubes pack tightly into a cup, expose more surface area to cool drinks quickly, and stretch further per pound, which makes them ideal for soft-drink fountains, self-serve dispensing, and high-volume food service. The machine forms about 800 cubes per cycle on a high-efficiency vertical plate evaporator, using ITV's patented smart water distributor for clean, consistent cubes.

The head pairs with a wide range of ITV storage bins, and it can be stacked two-high on the larger SCD-series bins to roughly double output in the same floor footprint. A smart electronic control board manages every parameter and shows self-diagnostics; panels come off with a single screwdriver for fast service, and the high-resistance AISI 304 stainless steel frame is built for demanding kitchens.

Key Features

  • Water-cooled: runs cooler and quieter and holds output in hot or poorly ventilated rooms
  • High capacity: up to 974 lb (442 kg) per day; ~915 lb (415 kg) at ASHRAE — strong high-ambient performance
  • 208–230V / 60 Hz / single-phase power on a 16 A circuit
  • Compact half-dice cube: ~0.9" × 0.4" × 1" (23 × 11 × 26 mm) — packs densely and chills drinks fast
  • Approx. 800 cubes per cycle
  • Stackable two-high on larger SCD-series bins to roughly double output
  • Energy: 3.7 kWh / 100 lb of ice (more efficient than the air-cooled model)
  • Patented smart water distributor for clean, consistent cubes and better scale resistance
  • High-efficiency vertical plate evaporator
  • Smart electronic control board with self-diagnostics
  • Tool-light service: panels remove with a single screwdriver (EASI — Easy Access for Service & Installation)
  • High-resistance AISI 304 stainless steel frame (STIF — Strong Inox Frame)
  • Ice scoop included
  • NSF and ETL (Intertek) certified

Best For

  • Hot kitchens or rooms with limited ventilation where air-cooled output would suffer
  • High-volume soft-drink fountains and self-serve beverage dispensing
  • Large restaurants, cafeterias, hotels, and catering operations
  • Sites where lower noise and heat output in the room are priorities and water cost is acceptable

What I appreciate is the recovery after a rush. We can pull a lot of ice in a short window and it catches back up without becoming an issue later in the night.

Good cube size, strong output and easy for the crew to work with

Our banquet team can go through ice incredibly fast. Since installing this machine, we haven’t had to stash nearly as much backup ice before events.

This thing gets hammered during dinner. still keeps the bin in good shape

We have a pretty tight equipment room, so the water-cooled setup made sense for us. It’s kept production steady without dumping extra heat into the space.

The half cubes work really well for our fountain drinks. They chill fast and don’t jam together in the scoop.

been happy with it so far. makes a lot of ice, doesnt feel cheaply built, and the half dice style fits our service better than larger cubes

L

we needed something for a hotter back area and this one has done the job well. good capacity and the smaller cubes work great for beverages

water cooled was the right move for our setup. the room stays easier to work in and the ice production has been very steady

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ITV Ice Makers SPIKA MS1000W2H 30" modular unit a complete ice machine or head-only?

It’s head-only— you must purchase a separate compatible ITV storage bin. The head can be stacked two-high on larger SCD-series bins to increase output.

How much ice does the SPIKA MS1000W2H make per day?

Nominal production is up to 974 lb/day (442 kg/24h). At ASHRAE conditions it’s about 915 lb/day (415 kg/24h), with typical range roughly 810–991 lb/day depending on operating conditions.

What kind of ice does this machine produce?

Half-dice cubes, approximately 0.9" × 0.4" × 1" (23 × 11 × 26 mm). This compact, high-surface-area format is ideal for fast chill and dense packing in beverage service.

What power and electrical requirements are needed?

208–230V, 60Hz, single-phase on a 16A circuit (uses 12 AWG wiring / 2.5 mm², 3-conductor).

Why choose water-cooled for the SPIKA MS1000W2H, and how much water does it use?

Water cooling transfers condenser heat to a water loop instead of the room, helping the unit run cooler/quieter and maintain output in hot or poorly ventilated spaces. Water use includes ice-making water (~14.8 gal per 100 lb of ice) plus additional condenser water (~51.8 gal per 100 lb of ice).
