Scotsman AP3-P AquaPatrol Plus Triple Water Filtration System - 6.3 GPM Description

Triple-Cartridge Flow for High-Production Ice Systems

The Scotsman AP3-P AquaPatrol Plus is a triple cartridge water-filtration system engineered for commercial ice equipment. It delivers up to 6.3 GPM and is published for Large cuber installations over 1,300 lb/day. Correct filtration helps protect an ice machine's water circuit and the quality of the ice it produces.

The cartridge uses a tighter pore structure to reduce dirt, rust, and other undesirable particles. Scotsman's design intentionally leaves chlorine in the water so it can continue helping keep the machine cleaner, while a controlled polyphosphate feed inhibits scale from hardness minerals. The result supports clearer, better-tasting, odor-free ice and can reduce the mineral burden that drives descaling frequency.

A compact manifold footprint and replaceable cartridge make the system easier to install and maintain. AquaPatrol Plus also forms part of Scotsman's AquaDefense® approach to ice-machine sanitation. This is not a softener and cannot make microbiologically unsafe water safe; water of unknown quality must be properly disinfected before or after the system.

Key Features

  • Commercial ice-machine filtration: sized by equipment type and daily production

  • Particle reduction: tighter pore size helps remove dirt, rust, and undesirable compounds

  • Scale inhibition: polyphosphate feed helps control hardness-mineral buildup

  • Chlorine retained: allows residual chlorine to continue helping keep the ice machine cleaner

  • Ice-quality support: helps produce clearer, better-tasting, odor-free ice

  • AquaDefense® component: supports Scotsman sanitation strategy

  • Serviceable design: replaceable AquaPatrol Plus cartridge

  • Maximum flow: 6.3 GPM

  • Compact manifold: designed for practical wall-mounted service access

Best For

Large commercial cuber installations producing more than 1,300 lb per day where the machine and peak water demand require a triple-cartridge, higher-flow manifold.

Cartridge & Installation Notes

Install the manifold on the incoming potable cold-water line with shutoff access and enough clearance below the housing to remove each cartridge. Size the system using the complete machine's peak flow and production—not model count alone. Cartridge life varies with water quality, sediment load, hardness, chlorine level, and ice production, so establish replacement intervals from site conditions and Scotsman's current instructions.

Do not use this system with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection. Flush new cartridges as directed, check all connections for leaks, and follow local plumbing code.

Scotsman AP3-P AquaPatrol Plus Triple Water Filtration System - 6.3 GPM Resources

Scotsman AP3-P AquaPatrol Plus Triple Water Filtration System - 6.3 GPM Buying Guide

Quick Answer: The Scotsman AP3-P AquaPatrol Plus is a triple-cartridge filtration system with a published maximum flow of 6.3 GPM. Scotsman lists it for cuber applications over 1,300 lb. Choose it after checking the exact machine’s water demand, site pressure and treatment needs. It retains chlorine and uses polyphosphate for scale inhibition; it is not interchangeable with every filter system.

Who should consider this product

Consider AP3-P for a high-production cuber installation whose required flow and water conditions fit the manufacturer’s selection guidance. Start with the selected machine’s fill demand and the water supply under operating conditions. Daily ice output is useful for initial selection, but it does not show instantaneous water flow or pressure losses through the installation.

The main buying decision

AquaPatrol Plus retains chlorine in the water and provides polyphosphate scale inhibition. The SSM Plus range is described differently and includes chlorine-reduction features. If you need chlorine reduction, check the treatment choice carefully rather than assuming all filters on a shared specification sheet perform the same function. Confirm any specific contaminant-reduction claim against the exact cartridge’s applicable listing.

For an illustrative shared line, simultaneous demands of 3 GPM and 2 GPM total 5 GPM, below a 6.3 GPM maximum rating on paper. That does not prove the installation delivers enough water. Pressure, piping, cartridge condition and equipment fill requirements still have to be checked. Have the installer assess the complete system rather than approving it only by adding rated flows.

Installation and fit checks

Allow space for the listed manifold and for removing all cartridges; the unit’s dimensions are not the complete service envelope. Confirm a potable-water supply, shutoff access, correct inlet/outlet direction and the required flushing procedure. The September 2026 sheet states the operating pressure and temperature limits. Have the installer verify performance under actual flow, not only a static pressure reading.

Compare the correct arrangement

Compare AP2-P and AP1-P when selecting the right system size, rather than buying the largest solely because it has more cartridges. Their published maximum flows are 4.2 and 2.1 GPM. Follow the machine-specific application advice. Confirm that replacement cartridges belong to the AquaPatrol Plus family instead of substituting an SSM cartridge by appearance.

Plan the complete purchase

Budget for replacing the cartridges in the triple system and any labor or access cost. Cartridge life depends on water conditions and use. Ask for the exact rated cartridge capacity and service instructions when comparing maintenance plans. The sheet’s five-year commercial coverage is for manifold parts, not a promise of five years of cartridge life. The system does not remove routine machine sanitation, and unsafe or unknown-quality water needs adequate disinfection under the manufacturer’s instructions.

Manufacturer reference: Matching specification sheet.

Buyer questions

Does AP3-P remove chlorine like a carbon filter?

AquaPatrol Plus is designed to retain chlorine. Verify exact cartridge functions before specifying treatment.

Does 6.3 GPM mean unlimited capacity?

No. It is a maximum flow rating, not cartridge life or a daily treatment-volume guarantee.

Is the five-year warranty for the cartridges?

The published commercial term is five years on manifold parts only. Review the complete written terms.

Shipping Policy

Ice Maker Supply ships commercial ice makers, ice storage bins, dispensers, filters, accessories, and related equipment through manufacturers, authorized distributors, fulfillment facilities, and parcel or freight carriers. The following terms explain delivery estimates, shipping coverage, freight service, and how to receive an order safely.

1. Where We Ship

We currently ship to eligible street addresses in the 48 contiguous United States. We do not offer shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, other U.S. territories, APO/FPO/DPO military addresses, international destinations, or P.O. boxes.

Delivery to rural, remote, construction, or limited-access locations may require extra coordination or may not be available for certain equipment. If a location cannot be serviced, we will contact you to review the options, including cancellation and refund when appropriate.

2. Free Standard Shipping & Additional Charges

Free standard shipping is available for qualifying products and eligible delivery addresses within the contiguous United States, as shown on the product page or at checkout. If a product does not qualify, the applicable shipping charge will be shown during checkout or in a written quotation before you complete the purchase.

Free standard shipping does not automatically include the services below, which may incur additional charges when requested or required:

  • Liftgate unloading when the receiving location does not have a suitable loading dock or forklift.
  • Inside delivery, room placement, unpacking, assembly, or installation.
  • Residential, remote-area, limited-access, special-appointment, or other carrier accessorial services.
  • Redelivery, storage, or address-reassignment charges caused by delivery access or receiving issues.

We will explain required additional shipping services or charges before arranging them and obtain your approval when applicable. Fees or exclusions shown in a product-specific quotation take precedence over general offers.

3. Order Processing & Estimated Delivery

Estimated standard delivery: 5–7 business days for eligible, in-stock products under normal shipping conditions.

This 5–7-business-day estimate is measured from order confirmation and successful payment verification (whichever occurs later) to expected delivery. It includes ordinary processing and transportation; processing time is not added again on top of this estimate.

Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding major U.S. holidays. Orders placed outside normal business hours may begin processing on the next business day. Shipment and arrival can vary with product availability, warehouse location, freight schedules, and destination.

The 5–7-business-day estimate does not apply to backorders, special orders, made-to-order items, products with a longer published lead time, or shipments requiring exceptional freight arrangements. Large freight shipments and remote destinations may take longer. Any different timeline shown on an individual product page or provided in writing for your order takes precedence.

Delivery dates are estimates, not guaranteed arrival dates. Please schedule equipment installers only after delivery and inspection.

4. Parcel Shipping & Freight Delivery

Smaller items may arrive by parcel carrier. Larger or heavier ice machines, bins, and commercial equipment often ship on pallets through a freight carrier.

Unless a different service is confirmed in writing, standard freight delivery is generally to an accessible truckside, curbside, or receiving/loading area. It does not include carrying equipment inside the property, placement in a kitchen or storage room, unpacking, disposal of packaging, or installation.

The receiving location must be accessible to the assigned carrier and must have an appropriate unloading plan. Let us know before shipment if you do not have a loading dock or forklift.

5. Liftgate, Residential & Limited-Access Delivery

A liftgate is a platform used to lower certain freight items from the truck to ground level. It may be necessary when the receiving location lacks a suitable loading dock or forklift. Liftgate service must be requested before dispatch and is subject to carrier availability, weight, size, and any applicable fee.

Residential addresses, schools, churches, construction sites, storage sites, and other restricted-access locations may have special freight requirements. Not all shipments can be delivered by liftgate. Contact us before ordering if your unloading conditions are uncertain.

6. Delivery Appointments & Receiving Requirements

Some freight carriers will call to schedule delivery. Please provide an accurate phone number and a receiving contact who can be available during the carrier’s delivery window.

Delivery windows depend on the carrier and are not guaranteed unless expressly confirmed. If the carrier cannot deliver because the recipient is unavailable, the location is inaccessible, or suitable unloading arrangements are missing, redelivery or storage fees may apply.

7. Shipping Confirmation & Tracking

We will provide shipping confirmation and available tracking details after the order has been handed to the shipping carrier and the information becomes available. Freight shipments may use a PRO number or other freight reference instead of a parcel tracking number.

Tracking information may take time to update after dispatch. If your shipment shows no movement for more than five business days, contact us so we can investigate with the carrier or shipping warehouse.

8. Orders Arriving in Multiple Shipments

An ice machine head, bin, dispenser, water filter, accessory, or replacement part may ship separately, especially when the products come from different facilities or suppliers. Each shipment may have its own tracking number and arrival date.

9. Inspecting Freight at Delivery

Commercial equipment should be inspected before signing the carrier’s delivery receipt whenever reasonably possible. We recommend that you:

1.  Confirm the correct number of cartons or pallets and look for missing items.

2.  Examine the packaging for tears, punctures, crushed corners, moisture, or broken pallets.

3.  Check accessible equipment surfaces for visible damage, and photograph any concerns.

4.  Write clear notes describing visible damage or shortages on the carrier’s delivery receipt before signing.

5.  Retain the receipt, photographs, and original packaging until the equipment is checked.

If there is serious visible damage, document it and contact us immediately for guidance. Do not accept a badly damaged shipment without noting the condition on the receipt. An unqualified signature may make the freight claim process more difficult, but does not override applicable legal rights.

10. Damaged, Missing, or Incorrect Products

If equipment arrives damaged, an item is missing, or a different model is delivered, contact us promptly, preferably within one business day of delivery or as soon as the issue is discovered. This is a request for fast reporting to help preserve carrier and supplier claim evidence, not a waiver of your rights.

Please send your order number, model details, photos of the product and packaging, a description of the problem, delivery receipt notes (if available), and the serial number if relevant.

Do not install or use visibly damaged equipment before contacting us. Keep the packaging. We will coordinate with the relevant shipping, warehouse, or manufacturing partner to investigate and arrange an appropriate resolution.

11. Delays, Backorders & Special Orders

Inventory, manufacturer production, payment verification, holiday schedules, weather, and carrier operations can affect fulfillment. If we determine that an order cannot be shipped within the applicable communicated shipment timeframe, we will notify you and offer the shipment-delay, cancellation, and refund options required by applicable law.

We will not substitute a materially different model without your approval. For backordered or made-to-order items, we will communicate the available lead-time information before proceeding when possible.

12. Address Changes, Redelivery & Returned Shipments

Please confirm your complete shipping address, business name, suite number, ZIP code, telephone number, and any receiving restrictions at checkout. Contact us immediately if a correction is needed. Changes after dispatch may be unavailable or may incur a carrier reconsignment fee.

Returned-to-sender orders or refused deliveries may require review and additional transportation charges when the issue is caused by an incorrect address, unavailable recipient, or customer-requested change. We will explain the available options, subject to the order’s circumstances and applicable law.

13. Lost Shipments or Orders Marked Delivered

If tracking shows “Delivered” but the equipment has not arrived, contact us as soon as possible. We will review the shipment record, carrier proof of delivery, delivery address, and any signature information with the carrier or fulfillment partner.

If a shipment is confirmed lost or misdelivered, we will work toward a suitable resolution, including replacement or refund as appropriate under the order circumstances and applicable law.

14. Expedited Shipping

Expedited shipping is not currently offered as a standard checkout service. If you have an urgent project, contact us before ordering so we can check current stock and provide a realistic shipping estimate.

15. Cancellations, Refused Deliveries & Returns

For cancellations or voluntary returns, please review our Refund Policy before shipping any item back. Most eligible unused and uninstalled products may qualify for a return request within 30 days of delivery, subject to authorization and the conditions stated in that policy.

If a shipment is refused for a reason unrelated to shipping damage, an incorrect item, or our error, applicable return freight or handling charges may apply. Please contact us before refusing a shipment whenever possible.

Refund Policy: https://icemakersupply.com/policies/refund-policy

16. Warranty Replacement Shipping

Warranty replacement shipments, when approved, are coordinated in accordance with the relevant manufacturer’s or supplier’s warranty process. Supporting documents, photos, troubleshooting, serial number information, or return of the original item may be required. Replacement delivery timing will be confirmed when the claim is approved.

17. Contact Ice Maker Supply

For shipping questions, freight arrangements, order status, delivery damage, or tracking support, please contact us and include your order number if you already placed an order.

Built for heavier use and it shows. Easy enough to service and hasn’t slowed down our ice production.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Scotsman AP3-P AquaPatrol Plus used for?

The Scotsman AP3-P is a commercial triple-cartridge water filtration system designed for high-production ice machines producing more than 1,300 lb of ice per day. It helps protect the water system while improving ice clarity and taste.

What is the flow rate of the Scotsman AP3-P AquaPatrol Plus?

The Scotsman AP3-P provides a maximum flow rate of 6.3 GPM, making it suitable for high-production commercial ice machine installations.

Does the Scotsman AP3-P AquaPatrol Plus soften water?

No. The AP3-P is not a water softener and should not be used to make microbiologically unsafe water safe. Water of unknown quality should be properly disinfected before or after filtration.

How does the Scotsman AP3-P help reduce scale and impurities?

The system uses a controlled polyphosphate feed to help inhibit mineral scale buildup. Its filtration cartridges also help reduce dirt, rust, and other unwanted particles in the incoming water supply.

What maintenance does the Scotsman AP3-P AquaPatrol Plus require?

The AP3-P uses replaceable filter cartridges. Replacement frequency depends on local water quality, water usage, and ice production, so cartridges should be changed according to site conditions and Scotsman’s maintenance recommendations
